Solskjaer has found a solution to a major United problem

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showed he had a tonne of faith in Axel Tuanzebe after naming him captain for Manchester United’s match against Rochdale.  This certainly seemed to spark a fire in the young star who was even more impressive than usual though he, unfortunately, couldn’t keep a clean sheet.  Solskjaer’s go-to center-back partnership has been Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire but lately, there have been questions about whether that’s the best option.

Some fans have felt that if Eric Bailly was fit he would start instead of the Swede while others feel it’s the academy product who should line up alongside the Englishman.  Lindelof’s aerial ability has been called into question of late and maybe it’s time to take him out of the limelight, even if it’s just for a bit, in order to see what Tuanzebe can really do.

Maguire hasn’t been faultless himself but since Solskjaer personally invested in him, a huge chunk of money too, it’s unlikely he will be dropped.

Tuanzebe has impressed in cup games so far and it seems the right time to allow him to impress in the league as well.  Perhaps throwing him right into the deep end against Arsenal won’t be wise but he has shown in the past he’s up to the task.
